Danny: Mayo Clinic Internship

“I was fortunate to be able to do a medical data science internship at the Mayo Clinic in the Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery. I was able to work with teams of researchers on longitudinal health data sets from OptumLabs. The focus of the work was on modeling the disease trajectory of diabetic patients and predicting changes in disease control. It was fun to work with clinician-scientists and data scientists to apply domain and technical expertise. It was also a wonderful opportunity for me to apply the foundational skillset from my first year in MIDS and determine areas for growth and exploration during my second year in the program.”
