Bring Your Background. Build Your Data Science Skills.
Data science brings together many different skills and perspectives, and we welcome applicants from a wide range of academic and professional backgrounds. Whether your experience is in computer science, statistics, engineering, social science, business, health, or another field, MIDS gives you the opportunity to build the technical and problem-solving skills needed to work with data in the real world.
Students develop a strong foundation in artificial intelligence, machine learning, cloud computing, databases, and distributed systems, while also learning how to communicate ideas, solve problems collaboratively, and apply data science to meaningful challenges.
And the learning goes beyond the classroom. Data Dialogues brings data science professionals and leaders to campus to share their experiences and perspectives on how data is being used across industries. Students gain hands-on experience through summer internships and work with real-world partners on capstone projects, tackling data science challenges and developing solutions as part of a team.
You don’t need to arrive knowing everything. We provide resources to help students strengthen key quantitative and technical skills before beginning the core curriculum, so you can start the program prepared to learn and succeed.
If you’re curious about how data can be used to solve problems, ask better questions, and build what’s next, we encourage you to apply.
