Bootcamp

students workingThe MIDS Bootcamp is a 3 week on-campus deep dive into programming required for all new students in the MIDS program. Bootcamp is taught by two Duke professors who will cover the following:
·      How to devise an algorithm
·      Use expert tools
·      Write basic Python code (as well as how to test and debug that code!)
·      Data structures and object-oriented programming in Python
·      Monte Carlo simulation

The Bootcamp experience is purely about learning! There are no grades, and we want you to learn deeply and use these programming skills to succeed in your long-term data science goals, whatever they might be. In addition to the lessons covered in Bootcamp, MIDS staff and faculty also lead a programmatic orientation and do some fun social activities.
