Rayn Sakaguchi joins the Duke Master in Interdisciplinary Data Science (MIDS) program as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, where he teaches Introduction to Natural Language Processing. His expertise spans machine learning, artificial intelligence, robotics, and computer science, with a passion for helping students apply cutting-edge methods to real-world challenges.

Dr. Sakaguchi earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University and spent nearly a decade as a Machine Learning Engineer at CoVar, developing advanced AI and machine learning solutions for research and government applications. He also serves as an Instructor of Robotics and Computer Science at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics (NCSSM), where he teaches the next generation of engineers and computer scientists.

At MIDS, Dr. Sakaguchi brings both industry and teaching experience to the classroom, preparing students to understand and develop modern natural language processing techniques and their applications across disciplines.
