Ryan Huang is an Associate in Research jointly working at the Duke Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) and the Nicholas School of the Environment. He received his B.S. in Biology at Emory University and his Ph.D. in Ecology at Duke University. Ryan’s research is in conservation and focuses on evaluating how habitat destruction changes extinction risk of species.
At MIDS, Ryan both helps oversee the Capstone Projects and is the TA for the Data Logic, Visualization, and Storytelling course. In addition to his research and teaching, Ryan is the co-founder and partner of TerraCommunications, a data visualization consulting agency.
