The interdisciplinary nature of the program allows students to take up subjects in concentrations like population health, biomedical sciences, etc. The prospect of learning and doing meaningful work in these areas really excites me. The application-oriented nature of this MIDS makes it really unique.
What excites you about data science?
The untapped potential of data science in different industries across the globe. I believe that using data-driven methodologies, specifically in developing countries, will help make the world a better place.
What research area are you most interested in?
I am most interested in the application of data science in the agriculture industry. A traditional industry like agriculture can really benefit using the application of data science. It can range from the prediction of crop yields to optimizing the food supply chain.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I generally end up reading books, from fiction, startups, books around adopting correct data culture within an organization, etc. I also enjoy wandering in the mountains.
What is one interesting fact about you?
I am a hardcore startup enthusiast. I’m always on the lookout for new products, technologies, etc.
