Danny hails from the upper Midwest (sort of). He is a medical student at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester.
Danny has a passion or health delivery systems, disease prevention, population health, and mobile/remote health monitoring. Within these areas, he has a particular interest in patient populations requiring mental health, behavioral health, and chronic disease care. It is clear that data science has an underutilized role in improving patient outcomes and Danny is very interested in pursuing these ends during his career in healthcare and data science.

"I was fortunate to be able to do a medical data science internship at the Mayo Clinic in the Kern Center for the Science of Healthcare Delivery. I was able to work with teams of researchers on longitudinal health data sets from OptumLabs. The focus of the work was on modeling the disease trajectory of diabetic patients and predicting changes in disease control. It was fun to work with clinician-scientists and data scientists to apply domain and technical expertise. It was also a wonderful opportunity for me to apply the foundational skillset from my first year in MIDS and determine areas for growth and exploration during my second year in the program."
