The First Bad Pancake: Taking Chances and Showing Value in Data & AI

Jordan Hagan

Careers in data and AI rarely follow a straight line and Jordan Hagan’s is no exception.

Jordan is a Solutions Architect at NVIDIA with 16 years of experience navigating the ever-changing data and AI landscape. She began her career as a data analyst in healthcare in 2010 and has consistently pushed herself into new territory, transitioning into data science in 2017 and becoming an AI practitioner in 2024.

In 2025, Jordan became the first Americas hire on Groq’s Solutions Architect team, where she learned hardware from scratch and showed the impact of taking initiative early. In her Data Dialogues talk, she’ll share her “first bad pancake” philosophy: why shipping imperfect work matters, how strategic discomfort enables growth, and practical guidance for building a resilient career in an industry that is constantly reinventing itself.
